“Ask One”
I recently wrote to our sponsors to introduce our “Ask One”
campaign. The idea is simple, if each of
our supporters will ask one person to sponsor a child or donate to our
Education Fund, we will be able to give the gift of education to so many more
children. I am sharing the content of
that letter here today and encouraging all of our supporters to revisit our
“Ask One” campaign. As someone who still struggles with the “ask,” I know that
it can be hard to do; however, my passion for our mission and the joy I feel
from seeing the life changing results of your generosity always outweigh my
reticence. I love sharing that experience with potential new supporters. You may find that the same is true for
you. Thank you!

During the six years that Dave and I have had the
privilege of running ChangeALifeUganda, I have been continually struck by the
generosity and gratitude of our sponsors and our students. I am amazed and humbled by –
n
The generosity of our sponsors in giving the gift of
education to a child or children whom most of them have not met and who live half
a world away;
n
The gratitude of our students for the chance to learn and
their faith in the future despite the difficult challenges many of them face everyday;
n
The gratitude of our sponsors who tell us how happy they
are to have found a way to make a real and significant difference in the life
of a child; and
n
Finally, by the generosity of our students who share their
hopes and dreams with us and their learning with their friends and family.
In 360 BCE, Aristotle said, “To give away money is an easy
matter in any man’s power. But to decide to whom to give it, and how large and
when, and for what purpose and how, is neither in every man’s power nor an easy
matter.” This observation remains true
today and we are so grateful that you have chosen to give your money to
ChangeALifeUganda. You make what we do
possible and you are the best messengers for our mission.
Today, I am writing to ask that you share your experience
sponsoring a child and “Ask One” friend, family member, or colleague to
consider doing the same. There are so
many more Ugandan children awaiting the opportunity to go to school.
Please share this "ASK ONE" link and select the Donate Here button so that others can make a
donation and a difference. Dave and I believe that many people are willing to
give once they understand the impact they can have. With your help, we can grow our sponsorship
numbers and give even more children the gift of education.
Thank you for your continued support.
Best regards,
Jean Semler
